The birth of Stitchin' Dreams is a short tale that begins with: Once upon a time Joyce and Sheila were having the "what are we going to do now" discussion with their friend, Tony, because of an unforeseen change in their prior careers. Tony (friend and owner of a local scuba diving shop) suggested the embroidery field. He had a long list of complaints regarding the local embroidery stores; excessive set-up fees, minimum order requirements, 3 month turn around for a simple name drop, etc... Tony continued to explain how he had actually looked into doing his own embroidery because of the overall lack of service for the "little guy" and offered the research he had completed. He said the machines cost about $6,000, it looks pretty easy, there must be a ton of work because the local competition has so much work it takes months for a simple order and so on..... (Our average machine cost $15,000 and we have invested over $45,000 in software.) Tony obviously had not completed his research. After our R&D period we decided to take the big jump into "private industry" and the American Dream of "self employment". January 1997 Stitchin' Dreams Embroidery was born. We agreed on some very simple and basic ideals which we call our "mission statement": 1. No minimum requirements (The little fish tend to grow up into bigger fish: We began Alien Ant Farm (AAF) as a small local band, now they have signed with DreamWorks productions!! Stitchin' Dreams is "thanked" on their first CD!)
